Our Story
Founded as Rhema Church of Atlanta on June 7, 2014, Encounter Atlanta is a vibrant, non-denominational ministry led by our visionary founder and senior pastor, Dr. Gabriel Powell. With over 850 members, we have grown from a church plant into a thriving community dedicated to faith, leadership, and purpose.
During the pandemic, we expanded through virtual campuses, eHuddles, and more, embracing innovation to reach lives. In 2021, God prophetically renamed us Encounter Church, reflecting our mission to create transformative encounters with God, build leaders, and impact culture.
