A Method of Madness

The practice of manifestation has sparked diverse opinions and debates. Some argue that it aligns with biblical principles, while others caution against it. In this eRead, we delve into the reasons why the cultural term of manifestation is unbiblical, and potential pitfalls associated with this practice.

What’s wrong with manifesting?

Manifesting is a form of self-worship. Manifest is a new age belief and includes the beliefs of reincarnation, astrology, physics, and the presence of spiritual energy in physical objects. Another definition of manifest is a way to create your reality through carefully monitoring your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. It is considered to be the universal law that brings the invisible world into the visible. When you are a manifester, you set your life on earthly things. The enemy uses culture to impose satanic terminology and practices. Activate the principles of God so you don’t have to borrow cultural customs.

Why is manifesting a problem?

  1. It takes the glory from God and puts it on you. If you manifest, you get all the glory. When do you thank God if you get all the glory?
James 1:17 | Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
  2.  It denies the sovereignty of God. The sovereignty of God is his right to exercise power over what he created. When you manifest, you do not give God room to correct. There is a process of success and prosperity. God cares more about your character and attitude. When we allow God’s sovereignty, we give him room to exercise his will and way.
  3. Manifestation is reckless. If you manifest it, you have to maintain it. If God does it, he will keep you and cover you.
Colossians 3:2 | Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Why are some unbelievers more prosperous than believers?

There is a wealth gap that we are not closing in on in the kingdom of God. We are seeing wealth in the culture that the people of God are not seeing. The world is taking biblical principles and applying it to see the fruit. They are prosperous without God because they are applying biblical principles, all while not reverencing that it comes from God. Christians are deeply inundated with religiosity and the emotiveness of God, that we do not bring the cognitive part of God to the emotive spirit of God. Cognitive and emotive are to be married to produce fruit.

What is the kingdom model for success?

God wants us to be successful, but he wants us to have success in him, not worldly success. If we evaluate our desires for success, the root of them are carnal. Most desires for success are to prove, show off, and satisfy our esteem. We must purify our hearts on success and seek out Godly success.

  1. Let God prosper you. All success and prosperity comes from God. God will prosper you in his timing. He is the source of all prosperity.
    Genesis 39:2-3
  2. Be obedient to the word of God. Stop doing your own thing and get into alignment. There is a promotion on the other side of obedience. Establish Godly character, integrity, and discipline. If you just live holy in this season, statistics won’t apply to you and your prosperity will go against time. Deuteronomy 28:1
  3. You have to give big! God honors generosity and selflessness. 2 Chronicles 1:6-12

Types of Success:

  • Personal Success
When it comes to success, we stop at money, cars, and clothes, but how do you deal with the vices in your life? God is more concerned with your inner success. You can be an outward success, but an inward failure. How is your personality, attitude, and character? Do you have a bad reputation? Do you quit at every sign of opposition? All of these questions can be used to help you understand how to achieve personal success.
  • Spiritual Success
Your spiritual success keeps your personal success. Do you know God? How much time do you spend in prayer? How often do you read the word of God? You are failing spiritually if the only time you pray is when you are in trouble and the only time you open your Bible is Sunday.
